An 1861 Mourning Dress

Fully lined dress is constructed of approximately 18 yards of black taffeta. The bodice is flat lined, boned, and lined and closes with approximately 32 hooks and eyes. It is trimmed with black ball buttons and hooks to skirt which is over 350 inches wide at hem and is fully lined
Dress requires a 7 wire hoop slip with minimum bottom circumference of 175 inches
( maximum of 200 inches). See Underpinnings page for examples.
